Walla Walla County Democrats Endorse 2026 Candidates

Message from the Party Chair:

The August 4th 2026 primary voting will begin with mailed ballots received starting July 17th.  The primary ballot will be lengthy, especially for the 5th Congressional District where there are 12 candidates!  Six of these candidates are Democrats.  One of the important roles the County Party plays is to endorse and support candidates.  After a thoughtful interview conducted by the Elections committee, recommendations were made to the entire Central Committee.  We are pleased to announce that after a robust discussion, the following Democrats are recommended for your vote in the August 4th primary:   

- (in alphabetical order) Carmela Conroy, Bajun Mavalwalla and David Womack

- Derek Sarley for the Washington State House of Representatives, 16th LD, 2nd position, and

- Tim Reeves for Walla Walla County Auditor.  

These candidates are recommended due to their excellent characters, strong qualifications and ability to do the job.  

The Precinct Officers present June 9th also approved financial support to the Primary Election campaigns of the following endorsed candidates:  David Womack, Derek Sarley and Tim Reeves. 

The top two vote getters in any Primary Election will advance to the General Election on November 3rd regardless of affiliation with a political Party.  Walla Walla recommends three out of the six Democrats who are running for the critically important election to Congress.
