Tired Souls: King and the Montgomery Bus Boycott

Tickets are available from the GESA Power House Theatre. December 1, 1955 in Montgomery, AL: Rosa Parks refuses to give up her seat to a white man on a city bus. this action inspires the black citizens of Montgomery to abandon all travel on city busses until they are no longer forced to stand when a white person boards. There were more who came before, brave visionaries who laid the groundwork for this pivotal moment. Tired Souls introduces audiences to fellow heroes and heroines including Jo Ann Robinson, Claudette Colvin and others instrumental in the Civil Rights Movement who changed the course of U.S. history.

About Mike Wiley: Acclaimed actor and playwright Mike Wiley has spent the last decade fulfilling his mission to bring educational theatre to young audiences and communities across the country. In the early days of his career, Wiley found few theatrical resources to shine a light on key events and figures in African-American history. To bring these stories to life, he started his own production company. Through his performances, Wiley has introduced countless students and communities to the legacies of Emmett Till, Henry “Box” Brown and more.

Protest Trump’s Illegal Actions in Venezuela

Join community members to protest President Trump's illegal actions in Venezuela.

On Saturday, Trump captured President Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, creating a power vacuum in the country, which he says will be run by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. While Maduro was a dictator who used force against his own people, Trump invaded Venezuela without consulting Congress, and did so in violation of international law.

Today, Trump renewed his calls for annexation of Greenland, saying ““We do need Greenland, absolutely.”

These actions cannot stand. Join us in raising our voices in protest.
