District 16 lawmakers to host May 31 town hall in Walla Walla

Walla Walla’s state lawmakers will visit for a town hall meeting and Q&A on Saturday, May 31, at Walla Walla Community College.

Residents can bring comments and questions to Sen. Perry Dozier, R-Waitsburg, and Reps. Mark Klicker and Skyler Rude, both R-Walla Walla, as they review the 2025 legislative session, including budgets, bills and other issues debated in Olympia.

The event will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, 500 Tausick Way in Walla Walla. No advance registration is required.

Dozier is the Republican leader on the Senate Business, Financial Service, and Trade Committee and assistant Republican leader for the capital budget on the Senate Ways and Means Committee. He also serves on the Senate Early Learning and K-12 Education Committee.

Klicker is the ranking Republican on the House Local Government Committee and the assistant ranking Republican on the House Environment and Energy Committee. He also serves on the House Rules and the House Transportation Committees.

Rude is the ranking Republican on the House Education Committee. He also serves on the House Appropriations and the House Postsecondary Education and Workforce Committees.

They represent Walla Walla, Benton City, parts of Richland, Pasco, and surrounding communities in Benton, Franklin, Walla Walla, and Grant counties.

The lawmakers will be at Columbia Basin College earlier that day for a joint town hall meeting with Tri-City representatives from the 8th District.

That town hall is 1 to 3 p.m. at the Gjerde Center, 2600 N. 20th Ave. in Pasco. Residents throughout the district can attend either event.
