WW Civility Project Lunch

  • China Buffet 1618 Plaza Way Walla Walla, Washington, 99362 (map)

The Walla Walla Valley Civility Project invites you to a gathering centered on food, discussion, and civility. The topic this time will be religious nationalism and the relationship between church and state. After a brief introduction, participants will break off into groups of 2-4 to discuss the questions below. The larger group will close with a brief time for sharing insights gleaned.

  • Should the United States be a "Christian nation"?

  • What role should a political office holder's religious views play in their decisions?

  • Should the government limit what a church can do or say? If so, how?

  • Should states still have the right to have a religious test to hold office?

  • Should government institutions be allowed to teach Christianity or allow Christian prayers or symbols in place of equal treatment of all religions and beliefs?

Please arrive early enough to pick up your food and bring a friend. An RSVP would be helpful if you plan to attend.
