County Commissioner Meeting 08/17/26

On Monday August 17, 2026 at the Walla Walla County Commissioner Meeting just before 11:30 recess at 1:06:45 on the audio recording Commissioner Kimball said that "anyone who knows me, knows that I am the least political person they know”! He said he does not want to get political. He also said that he would like to get Dr. Krager at a future County Commissioners Meeting and discuss the State of Washington veering from CDC guidelines. Commissioner Clayton said that she would also like to include changes made by the CDC. Commissioner Kimball cut off Commissioner Clayton and said he does not want to get political and wants to get a professional in here.

After recess at 1:15 PM at 1:08:40 on the audio recording R.L. McFarland made comments correcting Commissioner Fulmer's misleading information about the brochure that Commissioner Clayton had brought back from the Amazon Data Center Open House for Commissioner's Fulmer and Kimball to read. R.L. McFarland went on to discuss information that had not been recorded in the June 1,2026 County Commissioner Meeting concerning Melissa Schumake and an Amazon Representative by the name of Orman(d). I have listened to this twice and I am not sure what it means, but, something doesn’t sound right.

Immediately after R.L. McFarland, Cindy Gross raised in Wallula and went through the Columbia School System in Burbank and has been involved in legal data profession also corrected Commissioner Fulmer’s misleading information about the same afore mentioned Amazon brochure. Cindy Gross also said having family and many friends at the Amazon Data Center Open House that nobody she talked to had any positive things to say about the information available.

It was mentioned earlier in the morning meeting by Commissioner Clayton that the Amazon Data Center Open House had more of a Trade Show feel than an informational Open House. I heard several similar comments while at the Open House.
